“Ask rain from the Lord in the season of the spring rain, from the Lord who makes the storm clouds.” – Zechariah 10:1
Last week as a church we corporately prayed for rain, and the Lord answered this prayer. It is a joy to experience God answering the prayers of His saints, and it is our duty to return to Him with thanksgiving. God is sovereign over all weather, all prayers, and is worthy of all glory and praise when rain falls on our parched land.
My prayer is that we can all join in giving him thanks today.
Here is my prayer of thanksgiving:
Lord of heaven and earth, we thank you for the rain you sent to our land. Every molecule of every drop is only because of you, and we are so grateful. We are so undeserving of your grace, and you give it so graciously, thank you Lord. Thank you for the rain, and glory to Your Name alone.
We acknowledge that you are sovereign over all weather, and that you are powerful. The thunder and lightning speaks of your power. We tremble, and rejoice. We are reminded of your word in the book of Job, “He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter his lightning. They turn around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world.” (Job 37:11-12) We acknowledge your great power, and we are in awe of you. Thank you for the rain, and glory to Your Name alone.
We ask Lord that this rain bears fruit in our land. We pray that every drop’s purpose is fulfilled, and that you receive all of the glory, honor, and praise for it. We pray that the crop would increase, and praise to your name would increase. And even if not one crop yields any fruit, we will still praise your name. Let your will be done Lord. Thank you for the rain, and glory to Your Name alone.
We humbly ask Father, that you continue to send rain on our land, and we will give you all the praise. Thank you for what you’ve done, thank you for what you’re doing, and thank you for what you will do. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and we trust your perfect plan.
Again, we say, thank you God for the rain, and glory to Your Name alone.
“Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.” – Acts 14:17
